The changing face of United: Rooney and Smalling likely to be only starters from side that started their last European tie

Louis van Gaal is a man who likes to do things his way as seen with his decision to ship out a large proportion of the Manchester United side he inherited from David Moyes. The fact that only two players - Chris Smalling and Wayne Rooney - from the side which crashed out of the Champions League in April 2014 are certain to start against Club Bruges is clear evidence that the Dutchman has put his own stamp on the Red Devils. Van Gaal has chosen to move on the likes of Danny Welbeck, Shinji Kagawa and Darren Fletcher during his short reign at Old Trafford in order to bring in his own players.
